BIO

Raised on roots rock and soul, David Segall makes heartfelt music with a classic feel. His songs are inspired by love, life on the ocean, and the solace of Nature. With lively melodies and insightful lyrics, David’s music highlights the power within us and the connection between us all.  With early influences like the Beach Boys, Beatles, Bob Marley and Paul Simon, David gives soul-stirring performances that get his audiences up on their feet and dancing. He frequently plays festivals, special events, and music venues across the Central Coast and Southern CA.

Growing up in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara, David first started performing on stage at the iconic Roy’s when he was seventeen. He studied Voice and Performing Arts while at UCSB, where he graduated from the B.F.A. Acting program. After college, his music led him to Los Angeles to record his first album. Three years later, he ventured on to Chicago, where he fronted the group Modern Conversation, released three EP’s, and toured across the Midwest and East Coast. After four years away from the ocean, David returned to Santa Barbara in 2012, started living on a sailboat, and began writing the songs for his fifth studio release, Godspeed. Along the way, he got to record his songs with the likes of singer/pianist Zach Gill (of ALO and Jack Johnson’s band) and producer Jesse Siebenberg (Lukas Nelson, A Fine Frenzy, Lissie). After playing up and down the California coast, David embarked on a music tour of Europe in 2016, where he played shows in England, Spain, Italy, France and the Netherlands.
